Size and fit

What sizes do you offer?

Tops, hoodies, sweatpants and shorts run S, M, L and XL. The KW Denim Jeans run 30, 32, 34 and 36. We do not make XXL, and the current range does not include XS. One older T-shirt style was made in XS and is no longer available in it.

Is your sizing unisex?

Yes. There is one size run and it is unisex. The cut is relaxed and oversized, so a lot of women take one size below their usual size for a less oversized look. Go by the measurements below rather than by a high-street size.

Should I size up or size down?

Our tops are already cut oversized, so take your usual size for the fit you see in the photos. If you want it closer to the body, size down. If you want it very loose or you are tall and want extra length, size up. The 340gsm drop-shoulder styles, which are Studio Dept., College, KW Atelier, Melrose Atelier and Creast, are the most oversized pieces we make and size down well. The Apex Nylon Shorts are true to size. The KW Denim Jeans are a relaxed straight leg and are true to your normal waist measurement in inches.

I am between two sizes. Which do I pick?

Size down for a cleaner, closer fit. Stay at the larger size if you want the full oversized look the pieces are designed for. Because everything is cut generously, sizing down is the safer choice for most people and it is the most common reason people exchange.

How tall is the model and what size is he wearing?

Our main male model is 180cm, which is 5 foot 11, around 72.5kg, and wears a size Medium in tops. On the jeans he has a 38 inch chest and a 34 inch waist and wears a size 34. Where a female model is shown she is 177cm and wears a Medium. The model height and the size worn are printed at the top of every product page.

I am a certain height and weight. What size should I order?

As a starting point, and assuming a medium build: up to about 175cm take a Small, around 175cm to 185cm take a Medium, around 185cm to 192cm take a Large, and above that take an XL for the extra length. If you are broader than average go one size up from that. The most accurate way is to measure a T-shirt you already own flat across the chest from armpit to armpit and match it to the chest number in the tables below. Our pieces are cut with a lot of room, so a chest measurement that looks large for your size is normal.

How do I measure a garment?

Lay the piece flat and do not stretch it. Chest is measured straight across from armpit to armpit. Length runs from the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem. Sleeve runs from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. Waist is measured flat across the top of the waistband. Hip is the widest point measured flat. Outseam runs from the top of the waistband to the hem down the outside leg, and inseam runs from the crotch seam down to the hem. Leg opening is measured flat across the hem.

Are the measurements flat or body measurements?

They are flat garment measurements in centimetres, taken with the piece laid out and unstretched. They are not body measurements. Allow one to two centimetres either way between pieces.

Will it shrink in the wash?

The 340gsm custom-milled styles are pre-shrunk. Everything else is heavyweight cotton and will hold its size if you wash it cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle and do not tumble dry it. Heat is what shrinks cotton and what cracks screen print.

Will the print crack?

Not with normal care. Wash the piece inside out, cold, on a gentle cycle, do not tumble dry it and do not iron directly onto the print. The care label on the garment always takes priority over anything written here.

Do the jeans stretch?

No. They are rigid 100% cotton denim with no elastane, so they will not give much. They are a relaxed straight leg, so take your normal waist size in inches.

Do the sweatpants and shorts have pockets?

Yes. The Weststars Sweatpants have side seam pockets, an elasticated waistband and internal drawcords. The Apex Nylon Shorts have zip side pockets, an elasticated waistband and extended contrast drawcords.

Is there a tool to help me pick a size?

Yes. Every product page has a size guide with the measurements for that style and a find your size tool that suggests a size from your height and build.

What if I order the wrong size?

You have 14 days from delivery to start a return or an exchange. If you are in the UK you can exchange for a different size of the same piece through the returns portal. Measurements are listed on every product page so you can check before you order.
