Terms of service
Last updated: 21 September 2026
These terms set out who we are, how we sell to you and the rights and responsibilities we each have. By using www.kid-west.com or placing an order with us, you accept them. Please read them before you order, and save or print a copy for your records.
Who we are
KIDWEST is a trading name of Kid From The West Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
- Registered address: 3806, 7 Bankside Boulevard, Manchester, England, M3 7HN
- Company number: 14871376
- VAT registration number: 522 9921 81
- Email: info@kidfromthewest.com
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Kid From The West Ltd trading as KIDWEST. "You" means the person using our site or buying from us. Our registered address is for company correspondence only. It is not a shop and not a returns address, so please do not send parcels there.
Contacting us
Email info@kidfromthewest.com or use the contact form on our site. We reply within one working day, Monday to Friday, UK business hours. It helps to include your order number.
If we need to contact you, we will use the email address, phone number or postal address you gave us when you ordered.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect a change in the law or in how we operate. The version published on the site when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
Who can buy from us
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a legally binding contract to order from us. Our clothing is made for children, but the order, the payment and the contract are with an adult.
We sell to consumers. We may refuse or cancel orders that appear to be for resale, and we may limit quantities on any product.
Placing an order
Adding something to your bag or reaching the checkout does not create a contract. Our product listings are an invitation for you to place an order, not an offer.
When you complete checkout we email you an order confirmation. That email confirms we have received your order. It does not mean we have accepted it. A contract between us is formed when we email you to confirm your order has been dispatched, and it covers only the items named in that dispatch email.
We may decline an order if the item is out of stock, your payment could not be authorised, there was an obvious pricing or description error, we cannot deliver to your address, or we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these terms. If we decline your order we will tell you and refund anything you have paid in full.
Our products
We photograph every product as accurately as we can, but colours vary between screens, and small differences in shade, print position and finish are normal on washed, dyed and printed garments. That is how the pieces are made, not a fault.
Sizes are a guide. Measurements are on each product page and in our size guide. If you are between sizes, email us before you order and we will help.
Prices, taxes and duties
Prices are shown in the currency you have selected and include VAT or local sales tax where it applies. Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout before you pay.
For the countries we ship to, the price you see includes any import duties and taxes due on arrival, so there is nothing further to pay when your parcel is delivered. If that is not the case for your destination, we make it clear at checkout and on the product page.
Prices can change at any time, but a change will not affect an order we have already accepted. Very occasionally an item is mispriced. If the correct price is higher than the price shown, we will contact you before dispatch so you can confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund. We will not simply charge you the higher amount.
Payment
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Payment is taken when you place your order, and refunded in full if we later decline it.
Where an instalment or buy-now-pay-later option is offered, your credit agreement is with that provider, on their terms and subject to their checks. These terms still govern the sale of the goods.
The card or account used must be yours, or you must have permission to use it. All payments are subject to validation and authorisation by us and by the payment provider.
Delivery
Delivery options, costs and estimated timescales are on our shipping policy page and shown again at checkout.
Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees, and do not include time in customs or delays caused by the carrier or by an incorrect address. Your order is delivered when we or our carrier deliver it to the address you gave us, or to a safe place or neighbour where you have authorised that.
Responsibility for the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full. If nobody is available and the parcel comes back to us, we will contact you to arrange redelivery, and a further delivery charge may apply.
Cancelling, returning and refunds
Because you are buying online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason.
How to start a return, the condition items must come back in, what a return costs from each destination and how refunds are paid are all set out in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
In short: tell us within 14 days of receiving your order, send the items back unworn, unwashed and with their tags attached so they reach us within 28 days of delivery, and we refund you to your original payment method, less the £5 return fee. Outside the UK you also arrange and pay for the return postage yourself, and the parcel must be sent delivered duties paid. Made-to-order and personalised items, and items returned worn, washed, damaged or without tags, cannot be refunded. Nothing in this section affects your rights in relation to faulty goods.
Faulty or incorrect items
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the goods we supply must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If something arrives faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, email info@kidfromthewest.com with your order number and a photo and we will put it right at no cost to you. We pay the return postage and refund or replace the item. The time limits that apply are in our refund policy.
Normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse or by not following the care instructions on the garment, and the natural variation described above, are not faults.
Discount codes, promotions and gift cards
Discount codes are valid only for the period and on the products stated, cannot be combined with other offers unless we say so, have no cash value and may be withdrawn at any time. One code per order unless stated otherwise. We may cancel an order where a code has been obtained, copied or used in a way it was not intended for.
Gift cards are issued in the currency shown, can be redeemed only at www.kid-west.com, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are valid for the period shown when they were issued.
Your account
If you create an account, keep your login details confidential and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used them. Please give us accurate details when you register and when you order. We cannot be responsible for a delivery that fails because of an address entered incorrectly. We may suspend or close an account used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.
Your privacy
We handle your personal data in line with our privacy policy, which explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have under UK GDPR.
Using our site
You may use our site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:
- copy, scrape, republish or resell any part of the site or its content;
- use it for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- introduce malicious code or try to gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it;
- place false or fraudulent orders; or
- use automated systems to order or to harvest content or data.
We may withdraw or suspend access to the site, in whole or in part, at any time, and we do not guarantee it will always be available or free of errors.
Content you send us
If you post a review, tag us or send us a photo, video or comment, you keep ownership of it and you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce and display it in connection with KIDWEST, on our site, in marketing and on social media. You confirm the content is yours to share, that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, and that anyone identifiable in it has agreed. Where a child is shown, you confirm you are their parent or guardian and consent on their behalf. Tell us at any time if you want your content taken down and we will remove it from the channels we control. We may remove content that is unlawful, offensive, misleading or otherwise inappropriate.
Our intellectual property
The KIDWEST name, logos, designs, artwork, photography, product imagery and site content belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you, and you must not use our name, branding or designs without our written permission.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another website, such as a returns portal, a payment provider or a social platform, that site has its own terms and privacy policy and we are not responsible for its content. A link is not an endorsement.
Our responsibility to you
If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods, and for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
We supply our products for private, domestic use. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, strikes, carrier or supplier failure, power or network outages, or government restrictions. If such an event affects your order we will contact you as soon as we can, and you may cancel and receive a full refund for anything not yet dispatched.
Other important terms
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business. We will tell you if that happens and it will not affect your rights. You may only transfer yours if we agree in writing.
This contract is between you and us, and no other person has any right to enforce it. Each paragraph operates separately, so if a court decides one is unenforceable the rest remain in force. If we do not insist that you do something you are required to do, or we delay in taking steps against you, that does not mean we have given up those rights.
Complaints and governing law
If something has gone wrong, email info@kidfromthewest.com and we will do our best to put it right quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.
